My proposal is a commentary. The story will explore the impact of the Coalition’s proposal to limit the number of international students enrolled. I have seen some news reports that the international education community has criticized the proposal and called it ” straight out of Donald Trump’s playbook “. Education sector believes that international students contribute to the economy.

My story focuses on the impact of this proposal on international students and their current concerns. After this proposal is passed, the application difficulty will increase. Will this have an impact on the development of international students returning to their countries?

This report has important news value. First, it is timeliness. It focuses on the rapid response and proposals of the Australian Coalition Party after Trump’s new policy on international students. This is a hot topic recently. Second, in terms of proximity, this story is relevant to international students studying in Australia who are directly affected by policy changes.
